Favorite Links The internet is full of garden information-some of it is great-some nonsense. I have tried to make it easier on you by just including on this page reliable information from Universities, plant societies, and other trustworthy sites. Just like the rest of my website, I hope to update this list, and if you have got a favorite site, feel free to contact me. Roses The American Rose Society has an easy-to-use website, chock full of tips and care information. Perennials Where to begin? Such a wealth of information. To begin, visit www.parkseed.com (click on "zone" under content, and type in your zip code to find out which zone you live in). Ornamental Grasses First, remeber that some grasses are annual in most zones, and some are perennial. Where do you live and what is your zone? Then check out http://www.grasses.co.uk/p35.htm The Tenneselect plants and program Never heard of it?? Well-you need to know that UT and the greenhouse and nursery industry pick plants each year which are "Tried and True" for our area here in Zones 6 and 7 in the Southeast. These plants are all well suited for us, and grow in our gardens with less than usual care. For example, for 2001 the Annual of the year is lantana and the perennial is Rudbeckia, black-eyed susie. Learn more @ http://www.picktnproducts.org/ - Click on "Nursery Products", then select "Tennselect". Poinsettias The web site developed by the Paul Ecke company (one of the largest breeders and growers of poinsettias in the world) has everything you always wanted to know about these colorful "Christmas Flowers". Go to http://www.ecke.com, then go to "Cconsumer care". Mums We grow over 100,000 perennial chrysanthemums (mums) in our greenhouses, and we buy most of our plant cuttings from Yoder Plants. They are the experts, and you'll love their site @ http://www.yoder.com/ - Click on "Consumers" Miscellaneous Links of Interest Dale Hollow Lake Region Tourist Information Center Big South Fork Region Tourist Information Center http://aggie-horticulture.tamu.edu/introhtml/univers.html - Texas Tech website http://www.npr.org/programs/talkingplants/why/links - Get lost in many fine links http://www.clipsahoy.com/nature.htm - Has lots of clipart of bugs, plants, etc. http://www.tufc.com/ - The TN Urban Forest Council - easy to understand info about trees
